Lauren McCraney


Lauren McCraney is a civic leader and community strategist with over a decade of experience in nonprofit leadership, public programming, and grassroots advocacy. As Director of the Captiva Civic Association, she brings a deep commitment to environmental stewardship, historic preservation, and inclusive civic engagement.

Lauren has led initiatives both in Southwest Florida and internationally, with a focus on food security, disaster response, cultural preservation, and social justice. A longtime resident of Southwest Florida, she has raised her family in the region and has been actively involved in community-building efforts, from founding anti-trafficking awareness campaigns to curating local exhibitions and coalition events.

She holds a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology and Religious Studies from Florida Gulf Coast University, is pursuing an Executive MBA in International Business, and is a certified yoga and mindfulness instructor. Lauren is passionate about fostering resilient, connected communities and honoring the people and places that make Captiva unique.
